Stephanie Rice Signs New Deal Sans Agent

959067-stephanie-riceLast month I reported that former Olympic swimmer Stephanie Rice had opted to cut ties with her management team and start representing herself. She was to be helped by mentor Mark Bouris, who hosted her on Australia’s Celebrity Apprentice. To my knowledge this is still the case.

Now she has signed up for a new deal, signing on as an Ambassador for the 2014 Inter Dominion Championship in Sydney, a flagship event on Australia’s harness racing calender. Stephanie Rice already has an interest in harness racing, owning a 10% share in a horse aptly named ‘Steffi Rice’, with earnings from the horse going towards the Melanoma Institute of Australia.

“I am most privileged to be the Ambassador for the Inter Dominion as it is an exciting time for harness racing” Stephanie Rice said.

Harness Racing NSW CEO Sam Nati is very pleased with Rice being appointed to the role, stating that her appeal to the 18-35 year old demographic is exactly where the industry needs to target. The event will also be broadcast on Channel 9.

Rice currently supports Epilepsy QLD among a host of other charitable efforts, including supporting Daffodil Day.

Stephanie Rice Sets Management Situation Straight On Twitter

597214-stephanie-riceFormer swimmer and Celebrity Apprentice winner Stephanie Rice recently took to Twitter to clarify her management situation. Over the weekend, it was reported by The Daily Telegraph that her former manager, Titus Day of Six Degrees Management, had ended their working relationship. Stephanie then took to Twitter and her 130,000+ followers on Sunday and had this to say:

It is unclear just what the breach was. It appears she has not enlisted a new agency for representation at this stage, though she has consulted with Mark Bouris, the star of the aforementioned Celebrity Apprentice, on her business affairs. She has previously been without representation before having managed her own affairs prior to signing with 6 Degrees. Stephanie’s latest deal is with Russell Clothing for a new range of sportswear.
