Kei Nishikori Enjoys Success Post US Open, Inks New Deal

After a devastating run to the US Open Final, Kei Nishikori is cashing in. The world no.8 has added a new endorsement deal to his already illustrious portfolio.

Kei has been announced as an ambassador for Jaguar. The deal is region specific to his native Japan. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, though expect Nishikori to receive use of a car in the deal. Car endorsements are gaining traction with tennis players, with Novak Djokovic (Peugeot) and Maria Sharapova (Porsche) among tennis stars who have such deals.

On top of the Jaguar deal announced this week, existing partner Nissin Foods will release limited edition Cup Noodle packaging featuring his likeness. The 24 year-old’s image will start appearing on their products from later this month. He is two years into the Nissin Foods deal, in which he signed in April 2012.

Prior to Kei’s recent signing, Forbes Magazine estimated his endorsement income at approximately $9 million. His deals include apparel company Uniqlo, who recently awarded him a $1 million bonus for making the US Open final.

Kei Nishikori is represented by Olivier van Lindonk at IMG.
