Updated: IMG and Bernard Tomic have mutually agreed to end their representation agreement.

According to a tweet from IMG Tennis (below), it appears there is no bad blood between the two parties.

IMG has decided to end their representation agreement with Bernard Tomic. The Australian tennis player had been on their books since he was 13. The company saw a bright future in Tomic at that time, signing him to a six-figure marketing guarantee. The agreement had been due to expire soon, however IMG decided to part ways earlier.

As a junior, Tomic was touted as the next big thing in Australian tennis, winning the Australian Open junior tournament at just 15. He turned pro at the same age, and until Nick Krygio’s run at Wimbledon, was the youngest highest ranked player on the the ATP Tour. He is currently ranked 124.

It is understood that Tomic’s off-field behaviour was behind the split. He has had minor indiscretions, which were largely traffic offences . His father has also been in the spotlight, with Tomic Sr. being suspended for a lengthy period from tournaments.

The 21- year old currently has endorsement deals with Nike and Head. It is unknown whether he will seek representation from another agency.
