Houston Rocket’s Center Omer Asik has fired his agent, Andy Miller of ASM Sports, in a renewed bid seek a trade. Asik was signed by Houston at the start of last season to a 3 year, $25 million dollar contract. However, the deal is heavily back ended, similar to that of Jeremy Lin‘s deal. He will make $5.225 million this season and $14.9 million next season. His role diminished significantly with the signing of Dwight Howard.
Arn Tellem, who works for the Wasserman Media Group (WMG), will take over his representation duties. Arn represents 44 players in the NBA, including superstars Pau Gasol and Derrick Rose. It is reported that Omer Asik moved over to WMG and Arn Tellem to further put pressure on Houston.
Andy Miller and ASM Sports will still receive commission on his current contract, unless a buyout has been agreed.
