Phoenix Management Group is a primarily AFL representation company based in Melbourne, Australia. The name Phoenix has a significant meaning to the company. It was born from the ashes of Flying Start, Ricky Nixon‘s former agency, similar to the story of the mythical bird.
Phoenix formed in 2011. Led by former Richmond President Clinton Casey, it was purchased from Ricky Nixon for around $900,000. The team managed to retain the majority of the clients from Flying Start, including David Zaharakis, who has this to say about the company:
“The management team at Phoenix are great. They allow me to focus on my football but are always there when I need them. The support that they provide to me off the field is fantastic. They are always available for a chat and consistently deliver valuable feedback and advice. I could not ask for more encouragement from my management team.”
The company boasts two AFL accredited agents on their books in Scott Lucas and Winston Rous, who service approximately 30 clients. They also have Paralympic gold medalist Dylan Alcott on their books. Former Bulldogs footballer Rohan Smith also works for the company, specialising in guiding younger players.
At the time of writing, their most talked about player is Taylor Adams. The GWS midfielder is setting his sights for his home state of Victoria, with many teams interested.
