I’ve always believed Adam Scott has been under marketed in Australia. The Masters Champion has a high level of likability in Australia, yet he is not featured in advertising in his home nation. He’s the headline act at the Australian Masters next month, and no doubt his appearance will sell many more tickets than him not being in the tournament. Despite numerous media around Australia showing pictures of his record win, the clothing he was wearing wasn’t available for purchase.
Now it has been announced that Adam Scott’s apparel sponsor, Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo, will be opening its first store in Australia early next year. It will vacate the old Myer department store building in Melbourne. Uniqlo currently has over 1200 stores worldwide, with a heavy presence in Asia and Europe. The value-fashion line is looking to further its expansion in Australia in the coming years. The company also sponsors tennis players Novak Djokovic and Kei Nishikori.
Scott has four major sponsors: Titleist, Mercedes-Benz, Rolex and Uniqlo. Of those four partners, Uniqlo is the one that is connects with the largest demographic the most. It is unknown whether Adam Scott will be in attendance of the opening, as the PGA Tour will be in full swing at time of opening.
Adam Scott manages his own affairs.
